CUT!
Thursday, July 28, 2011You just have to make sure that the hair is clean and bound in a ponytail or braid securely and measures at least 10 inches. Megan's actually came out to 11&1/2 inches. I watched a few youtube videos to learn how to cut a graduated bob/A line. It was easier than I anticipated. Except meg has a cowlick right at the nape of her neck so next time I'll keep that in mind when I'm cutting. She says every 30 minutes how much she loves her haircut :) It's pretty cute. She stared at herself in the mirror every minute she got today. She kept asking if so-and-so will recognize her when they see her. It's fun.

AIRPLANE
Thursday, January 27, 2011We were chosen and on Wednesday we went to the US Airways building just off Rio Salado in Tempe for a costume fitting (they told me what they wanted and I had to pick out similar things in our wardrobes and bring them). Then they played doll with us. "go try this and this on.......hmm no, lets try this and maybe that." back and forth trying on different combinations with our and their supplemented accessories and such. Then on Friday night we went to the US Airways hangar at Sky Harbor where they dressed us in the clothes they'd picked out and some ladies from MAC with pink hair and upper lip beautymark piercings did our makeup. There were about 5 or 6 other actors.
They took out seats so the camera crew could set up all their stuff. Sorry I didn't get a better picture of the set up inside!! If you know photography equipment, you should geek out when I tell you the whole thing was shot using the RED EPIC camera which takes like 240 still shots per second, so while they are using a "video" camera, it's taking stills and they don't have to switch between still and video shots.
What is your opinion on that? Aaron says that we are entitled to hers but I think that she should get all of it...tell me what you think.
Anywho, it was fun and I'd do it again in a second. woot. BTW- if my posts get sparse I'm truly sorry- I'm in school, work, running carpool and boot camp, doing homework and bleh bleh bleh... boring, but busy. Just shoot me an email if you miss me and I'll post some Steph candy.

Haircut
Friday, May 8, 2009Ok, I feel really bad that i forgot to post the results of the haircut vote! I did go much shorter- thanks for the feedback ladies! Now with our car AC out and the temperature reaching 103 today (yes, that's what I said. 103. bleh.) I'm really glad to not have much hair. Hair is so overrated anyway. It's just to keep the sweat from dripping all over your face. Oh yeah, and to keep your brain from overheating. LOL I do love how little time it takes to dry and style. Sorry the pic doesn't show it very well. In all of the other pics I looked through i look awful. Not to say that this one is head and shoulders above the rest, but "it'll do pig." Plus in this one I have the little hair in front of the ear that likes to loop out sometimes when you wear glasses. annoying.

Bow Holders
Tuesday, April 21, 2009Real quick I have to post this in 2 minutes before it's tomorrow! The garden videos take a few hours each to upload, so it's gonna be a couple days before Gardening with Mittleider part II is posted since I have to upload them at night when we don't need the computer (yes, I know it shouldn't take this long- we are trying to get this problem fixed, but until then we wait). SHOOT, it's tomorrow! Darn midnight- I stay up too late! And I'm sick and losing my voice on top of it! We had the Downeys over for FHE tonight and played us some guitar hero world tour afterward- I sang one song and sounded like a dying frog. Hooray for drums!
Haircut Vote
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
Hey all- I have been having fun with my hair as it grows out of the last cut and even though it's not even to my shoulders yet, I'm having the seven month itch... to divorce my hairstyle.... I saw this video and thought "ooooh that's cute- I really like that," but I'm a little indecisive about doing it. So I'm putting it to a vote! Yes, you get to decide what I should do with my hair! Leave a comment with one of the following:
A-DON'T CUT IT! Leave it the same!!
B-Cut the dang hair- it'll grow back anyway
or
C-Go for a different hairstyle- here's a link!
Obviously if you choose C, you have to add a link to the hair you think I should get. I just don't have it in me to make the decision this time around.
***ADDED NOTE- I wasn't trying to grow it out, the only reason I was growing it out is cause I hadn't gotten it cut again yet.....

August in retrospect
Friday, August 29, 2008Ok, so I've been bad about posting pictures and happenings from this month- I can't find my camera, so I'm blaming it on that. however I do have a webcam and took a few pics of my new haircut. It's the same type of wedge cut as last time, but I went shorter with more texture.
One a completely different note, Megan is LOVING kindergarten! A week ago she was called to the front of the flag ceremony in front of the whole school and the principal gave her a neat white pencil for being a kind person. It turns out she had tried to console a little girl who was crying a few days before. What a sweetie. We just went to the curriculum night and her teacher said that by the end of the school year they will be adding double digits and be introduced to fractions. In kindergarten! Crazy. On the meet the teacher day (the day before she started school), Megan met a girl named Amelia in the playground that was going to be in her class and they found a little frog together. Well, it turns out that Megan isn't so great at remembering faces. The other day an exasperated Megan got in the car after school and said "Amelia thinks her name is Rorie." HA HA HA. It turns out Amelia thinks her name is Amelia and Rorie thinks her name is Rorie, it's just that Megan thinks Rorie is Amelia. Too funny.
One last note- I finished the fences and they are in- I only have to plant in a few weeks and find my camera so I can show you all!

March is here!
Wednesday, March 12, 2008When you compare the before and after pictures, Matthew looks way better with longer hair, but I swear in real life, it looks good shorter.... and yes, I did eventually get around to wiping that nose..bleh.

After the haircut Megan decided Our newly blooming flowers needed one of those garden picks with the picture of the plant full in bloom, so she drew a picture and put it in the flowerpot.

Aaron found out back from the interview he had- he's been placed on the alternate list for next sememster... so here's to hoping that those accepted decide NOT to go there and they'll get down to Aaron's name! LOL He'll be sending more information to the dental school in Las Vegas (which they requested just after Aaron's interview) and also applying for podiatry school. He's just wants to get going with whatever he's going to be doing.
I've noticed after going through a few pictures recently that unless I ask Megan to stand straight, she'll do a pose every time. She calls it her fashion:

A couple weeks ago I gave in to Megan's begging for a pink bike and instead of buying a pink bike, I just repainted her bike pink. cheap, but effective. She loves it. When we were on a walk down the street we saw that someone had put out in their carport a few chairs and bikes with a huge FREE sign on them. One of the bikes was an old timey blue Schwinn so I took it home, cleaned it up, and used the rest of the pink spray paint on it. I have a new bike! I still need to get a fuzzy black seat cover for it because the original seat doesn't match, no matter how cool I think it is.

haircuts- PICTURES ADDED
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
Megan and I both got cute short haircuts from my friend Julie Thompson. It's a wedge cut of sorts and I can do my hair foofy, straight, or curly and it looks great. love it. I dont ever want my hair long again. I stuck with growing my hair out because Aaron likes long hair. I've found that I am so much happier in general with short hair. Isn't that weird? It's like long hair depresses me. weird. I think it's all self image reflected in my mood. I just look yuck with longer hair (It really wasn't even that long). Sorry Aaron! I still love you!
